Day 1: Back Home in the Czech Republic

Reunited with family and diving back into Czech life with a nostalgic trip down memory lane and an active afternoon.

Day 1: First Activities

After what felt like an eternity, I finally touched down on Czech soil! Two long days of travel caught up with me, and I slept in until almost 10 am. Pavel was kind enough to pick me up in Karvina. Our first stop? My old elementary school! It was surreal walking through those familiar corridors and reliving childhood memories. The area around the school has changed, but the building itself still stands strong. We took a few photos to capture this nostalgic moment.

Our little adventure continued as we explored more of the town, including a visit to Kovona Bridge. Then, it was on to Orlova, where I was greeted with a delicious bowl of goulash – the perfect comfort food after a long journey. To burn off some energy, we decided to go for a bike ride. Our route took us through Rychvald, Petrvald, and Havirov. Along the way, we indulged in refreshing ice cream and Kofola – classic Czech summer treats! We even managed to squeeze in a quick swim at a nearby lake.

What a perfect way to kick off my Czech Republic adventure! Feeling grateful for family, good food, and the beauty of this country. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
