Grand Canyon Adventure with the Guys! (June 13th – 16th)

Four days, four friends, and the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon! Our guys' getaway (June 13th-16th) was a whirlwind adventure. We traversed over 690 miles, marveled at the Four Corners landmark, and hiked the depths of the Grand Canyon, culminating in a refreshing dip in the Colorado River. Sore muscles and all, this trip forged memories that will last a lifetime!

Grand Canyon Trip

Hey everyone,

Just got back from an epic trip to the Grand Canyon with my buddies Bob, Vladimir, and Robert! We squeezed in a ton of fun over four days, and I wanted to share some highlights.

Hitting the Road:

We kicked things off on Thursday with a late afternoon departure from Colorado Springs. Our first stop was the quirky town of Cortez, CO, where we stayed the night at Hotel 9.

Four Corners and the Grand Canyon Await:

The next day, we made a pit stop at the iconic Four Corners Monument, where four states – Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona – all come together at one point! Finally, by afternoon, we arrived at the majestic Grand Canyon. We spent the rest of the day snapping photos from different viewpoints, each one more breathtaking than the last. Fueled by our adventure, we treated ourselves to a delicious dinner near the Bright Angel Trailhead.

Hiking the Canyon and Soaking Up the Views:

Determined to experience the full splendor of the canyon, we woke up at the crack of dawn (4 am!) the next day to start our hike down. The trek down took a good few hours, but by 9:30 am, we were standing right by the mighty Colorado River! We spent the rest of the morning cooling off with a swim in the refreshing water before conquering the climb back up – a true test of endurance! By 4 pm, we were back at the rim, exhausted but exhilarated. Refueling with some well-deserved food and drinks at a bar near the South Rim, we finally hit the hay for some much-needed rest.

Winding Down at the Red Feather Lodge

The allure of home beckoned, but not before we bid a final farewell to the Grand Canyon. Our muscles ached pleasantly from the previous day’s conquest, so before hitting the road back to Colorado Springs, we decided to pamper ourselves. The Red Feather Lodge offered the perfect sanctuary – a soothing soak in the hot tub worked wonders on our weary bodies. Steaming and relaxed, we shared stories and laughter, the perfect way to unwind after an epic adventure. Refreshed and recharged, we packed up our memories (and slightly lighter backpacks!), ready to embark on the journey home.

Back Home, But Memories Made to Last!

We rolled back into Colorado Springs just before midnight, exhausted but with hearts full of unforgettable memories. The Grand Canyon truly lived up to the hype – its vastness, beauty, and challenging hike will stay with us forever.

This trip wouldn’t have been the same without these amazing guys. Sharing laughs, conquering challenges, and witnessing the Grand Canyon’s grandeur together – that’s what makes these memories truly special.

Until next adventure,

Martin
